How to Cook Perfect Basmati Rice

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups Shahnai Healthy Chakki Atta
  • 1/2 tsp salt (optional)
  • Water (as needed for kneading)
  • 1/2 cup grated carrot
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped spinach or kale
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped bell peppers
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tbsp oil (for dough and cooking)
  • Ghee or butter (optional, for brushing)
Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Dough:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine Shahnai Healthy Chakki Atta and salt.
  • Gradually add water and knead until you get a soft, smooth dough. Drizzle a little oil over the dough to keep it soft and elastic. Let it rest for 15-20 minutes.

Step 2: Make the Veggie Filling:

  • In a separate bowl, combine the grated carrot, chopped spinach/kale, bell peppers, cumin seeds, garam masala, turmeric powder, and red chili powder.
  • Mix well to incorporate the spices evenly with the veggies.

Step 3: Roll Out the Parathas:

  • Divide the dough into small balls (about the size of a golf ball).
  • Flatten each ball slightly and place a spoonful of the veggie mixture in the center.
  • Seal the dough around the filling and gently roll it out into a circle, ensuring the filling stays intact.

Step 4: Cook the Parathas:

  • Heat a tawa or griddle over medium heat.
  • Place the rolled paratha on the tawa and cook for about 1-2 minutes on each side, pressing gently with a cloth or spatula to help it cook evenly.
  • Drizzle a little oil or ghee on both sides while cooking for a crispy, golden texture.

Step 5: Serve:

  • Once both sides are golden and crispy, remove the paratha from the tawa.
  • Brush with ghee or butter for extra flavor and serve hot with yogurt, pickle, or a curry of your choice.
